This pandemic has given me time to think, and more importantly, time to create. I’ve been working on a bunch of higher-level Excel tools for analysis, and I’m going to get the chance to share what I’ve developed in an upcoming webinar with the Urban Land Institute.

On June 2 and 4, 2020, I’ll be doing two 2 hour-long webinars on Excel for Asset and Portfolio Management. If a little snippet of higher-level spreadsheets is your thing, it’s worth checking out, and as with all of their classes, it’s well priced. It’s only $200 for non-members and $150 for members.

The description of the class even sounds like I may know what I’m talking about. 🙂

“Join us for a two-day workshop on June 2 and June 4th, from 1-3 PM EST for a deep dive into Excel. This class is designed for asset managers, portfolio managers, or anyone in a reporting role that has to manage large datasets. Attendees taking this workshop should have intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel. Topics explored will include “What If” tools, the use of LOOKUPs, INDEX(MATCH()), and INDIRECT() functions, and how to build better data tables for sensitivity analysis. Specific asset management and portfolio management issues will be discussed, and how best to use the toolkit in Excel to solve them. The scenario manager will also be discussed. There will also be some discussion of the use of Visual Basic with examples as well as the “new” dynamic array functions that are being implemented in 2020. All participants will receive a suite of unlocked spreadsheets in Excel for their own professional use.”

See (or hear) you there.
