I’m pleased to say that I’ll be teaching Real Estate Finance 1 again at Columbia University’s MS in Real Estate Development program this Summer.

I’ve taught there since 2005 every year as an Adjunct Associate Professor and in that time I’ve taught a range of classes; however, I haven’t specifically done an introduction to real estate finance class since 2014.

To be honest, it was nice to have a break. After almost 10 years of teaching time value of money, I needed to stop. As with anything, it’s exciting at first, comforting when you gain mastery, and eventually, it’s boring.

In any event, I’m thrilled to be back again doing it. It’ll be good to go over the basics with a new crop of incoming graduate students. I have some new slides, I’ve retired some old ones, and my bad jokes remain as bad as ever.
