We just delivered an Excel for Real Estate modeling class for a private equity client in Nairobi, Kenya.

This isn’t to say that we haven’t done international classes before; I did a lot of them back in 2007 (Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Dubai, etc.) before I decided that it wasn’t a great use of my time and also that international air travel is the only thing that is even worse than domestic air travel.

That said, the education space has evolved since 10 years ago. Back then, it was common to ship in training talent; now, if a client from another country wants to hire me, we just do an online seminar, or if they do pay to have me come in, they have a few people view it remotely. Remote attendance of classes is not unusual anymore.

There’s still a premium for live classes, but I don’t know if in 10 years from now I’ll still be able to say that. I fear that I can get a few more trips to fun places before eventually everyone just goes virtual, and that saddens me. As much as I hate to fly, I do love being there when I get there.

In any event, if you’re in NYC, or if you’re still up for getting on a plane for a live class, my training classes are here. Or, if you want to have me (or one of my team) fly to you, contact us.
