How do I download and install a trial copy of ARGUS Valuation - DCF™?

If you have a company administered computer, you may need assistance from your IT department to install the software as you will need "Administrator" level privileges.

ARGUS does not require a substantial amount of computing power. Any laptop that is three years old or less is suitable for the class.

What is your experience in offering this class?

KREG has taught Argus for over five years. Our firm has taught both open enrollment and on location corporate training classes for numerous investment banks, commercial real estate firms, business schools, and other organizations.

Can I learn how to use Argus on my own?
|
| |
|
From our experience, it is extremely difficult for people to learn Argus on their own. Regardless of the level of real estate investment knowledge your employees have, they will need a training course to effectively utilize Argus. Our course uses a combination of lecture, practical case studies, and financial theory to give all attendees a useful and working knowledge of the software.

To put it another way, you could learn it on your own, but it would probably not be worth the hours of frustration. In additon, in financial modeling, all it takes is one mistake, and the model is worthless. If you try to teach yourself, you will make many mistakes.

Who should take the course?
|
| |
|
The seminar is designed for students that range from absolutely no exposure to Argus to intermediate users. We find that even intermediate students find the seminar useful and have come out of it pleased. There are always new features being implemented and unless someone demonstrates them, it is unlikely that your people will find them on their own.

Anyone who is involved in a real estate transaction should take the course. We suggest it for anyone from an Analyst to the top of the command structure. Argus is extremely sophisticated and too many senior people base their decisions on inaccurate or misleading financial projections; even a little Argus knowledge by managers will strongly encourage Analysts and Associates to produce higher quality work.

Why should I learn how to use Argus?
|

- You want a job. Knowledge of Argus is required for many finance, investment, and lending positions in real estate. It is common to see it listed as a requirement in a job posting.
- You want to use Argus more effectively. Argus is extremely difficult to learn on your own without training. Real estate experience is not sufficient to learn how to use the package properly as the user interface is sophisticated.
- You want a small class, personal interaction, and useful training materials. All courses are restricted to 20 students in order to maximize teacher/student interaction.
- You don't have a lot of time. We offer a two day concentrated weekend class to quickly and efficiently get you up to speed.
- You want a trainer that's a real estate professional. The instructor, Joshua Kahr, is very experienced in the use and instruction of ARGUS. Before he started his consulting business, he regularly used ARGUS in positions in both acquisitions and investment sales. He currently uses ARGUS in his development consulting work for private clients, Fortune 500 corporations, and government agencies.

What is your cancellation policy?
For a full refund, the registration must be cancelled a minimum of 10 business days prior to the scheduled class. After that date, you will be charged the full cost of the seminar, as the seat cannot be released to another student.

The course lasts two days from 9:00 - 5:00. The course is typically held at your location, but we can make arrangements for the course to be held at an alternate location such as a conference center or a hotel. If desired, the course can also be held over the weekend.

By the end of the two day course, all attendees will understand how to build and audit Argus models for office, retail, industrial, residential, and hotel properties. The "portfolio" model is also covered so that users can stress-test portfolios of properties by varying economic and market conditions. Attendees also learn how to model construction and development deals including condominium and suburban subdivision development. We can also tailor our training courses to meet your specific content needs.
